Family escapes unharmed after bedroom blaze in Doncaster

A family of five escaped unharmed from their home after a bedroom blaze.

The fire on Broadway, Dunscroft, Doncaster, was discovered at 11.45pm last night.

An electrical fault with a lamp was to blame.

Firefighters dealt with the incident.

They also dealt with a car set alight on Brecks Lane, Herringthorpe, Rotherham and a wheelie bin torched in a park on Bushfield Road, Wath-upon-Dearne.

Over the weekend fire crews tackled a pile of rubbish set alight on Wood Lane, Brinsworth, Rotherham and a skip found burning on Wheatley Hall Indstrial Estate, Wheatley.

They were also called out to Sheerview Close, Athersley, Barnsley, after a shower unit developed a fault and caught fire.

A fire was also discovered in a derelict building on an allotment on Watch House Lane, Bentley, Doncaster and two cars were found burning on The Ridge, Woodlands, Doncaster and Agnes Road, Barnsley.

A mini motorbike was set alight in an arson attack close to Halfway Junior School, Halfway Centre, Halfway, Sheffield.
