A WOMAN caught with fake £10 notes has been warned she could be jailed.
Kayleigh Finch and another woman were stopped in a Tesco store on suspicion of theft from the shop, Chesterfield magistrates heard. Becky Mahon, prosecuting, said the pair were searched and 26-year-old Finch was caught carrying 19 counterfeit £10 notes.
Finch, of College Avenue, Staveley, admitted possessing counterfeit money and is to be sentenced next month after District Judge Andrew Davison told her the court’s sentencing powers were insufficient to deal with the seriousness of the crime.
“It’s not inevitable you will go into custody but it is highly likely,” Mr Davison told Finch.
He ordered probation service reports and granted her unconditional bail.
