A man is facing extradition to Lithuania over a sexual offence – after he was arrested over a series of drive-offs from petrol stations in Rotherham.
The 25-year-old, from Lithuania, was arrested when a vehicle was spotted in Wales, Rotherham, that is alleged to have been used at petrol stations where payment was never made.
While he was being questioned by officers from South Yorkshire Police, it emerged an international arrest warrant had been issued for him over an alleged sexual assault in Lithuania.
The suspect has also been charged with using a vehicle without insurance and making off without payment.
Extradition proceedings are under way.
