POLICE patrols have been stepped up around a Sheffield primary school targeted by vandals.
Officers have been asked to keep an eye out for yobs who have smashed windows and damaged the garden area at Shortbrook Primary School, Westfield, over recent days.
Inspector Jason Booth, of the Woodhouse and Mosborough safer neighbourhood team, said: “It’s disappointing a school that benefits the community is so mindlessly damaged.
“We will be putting additional patrols over the next few days in the area and I would encourage anyone with any information to get in touch with the police.
“We also ask that any suspicious behaviour around Westfield is reported to the police by calling South Yorkshire Police on 101.”
