Drugs, cash and bullets found at home by police

DRUGS, thousands of pounds and bullets were seized by police in a raid on a house on Rotherham.

Officers found £30,000 worth of cannabis, 20 kilograms of a drug cutting agent and £10,000 in cash as well as bullets and shotgun cartridges after swooping on a property Newton Place, Thorpe Hesley.

Three men – Marcus Junior Treasure, aged 23, of Wensley Street, Grimesthorpe, Sheffield; Marcus Junior McPherson, 28, of Psalter Lane, Brincliffe, Sheffield and Rajvinder Singh Takhar, 28, of Patterdale Road, Dalton, Huddersfield – have been charged with possession of cannabis with intent to supply and firearms offences, and remanded in custody after appearing before Rotherham Magistrates. A 30-year-old woman from Doncaster has been released on bail without charge.

Chief Inspector Colin McFarlane, who led the police raid, said: “South Yorkshire Police does not tolerate drug-related crime.

“I hope this police action demonstrates the force’s commitment to protect communities from the impact of drug use by tackling drug related crime and removing drug dealers from the borough’s streets.

“Police will continue to take action in communities which are affected by drug crime.”
