Detectives in Sheffield still searching for man wanted over attempted knifepoint robbery

Detectives in Sheffield are hunting a man for an attempted knifepoint robbery on a young woman in the city centre.

The thug struck on Solly Street, off Broad Lane in Sheffield city centre, targeting a 22-year-old woman.

He threatened her with a knife close to the Edward Streets flats complex.

Police said he put his arm around her waist and asked if she had any money, while forcing her to walk to Kenyon Street.

The offender eventually let her go and told her not to look back. The victim fled and dialled 999.
