A Derbyshire fire chief has been charged with rape.
Sean Frayne, aged 47, is alleged to have committed the sex attack on a woman in December 2006.
He has been suspended from his role as Derbyshire’s Chief Fire Officer pending the outcome of the case.
A Derbyshire Police spokesman said: “Mr Frayne, who was arrested in February 2014, was charged and is due to appear at Southern Derbyshire Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 31.
“The charge relates to an alleged incident in Etwall in December 2006.”
