Death of man found in Rotherham house is ‘not suspicious’

Detectives are not treating as suspicious the death of a man in Rotherham.

Police were brought in to investigate following the discovery of a 48-year-old man injured in a house on Morrell Street, Maltby, at around 6.30pm on Sunday.

He was rushed immediately to hospital, where he later died.

A post mortem examination has concluded the man died as a result of head injuries.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Police investigating the death of a man who was found injured at a house in Maltby are not treating it as suspicious.

“Police do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and are not looking for anyone else.

“A file is being prepared for the coroner.”
