A HOUSE in Sheffield has been closed down under ‘crack house’ legislation after it was used as a drugs den.
The property on Andover Street, Pitsmoor, was raided by South Yorkshire Police in June and yesterday officers went to court to apply for the property to be closed down to stop people using drugs there.
It is now an offence for anybody to enter the house for the next three months, and police have posted a notice outside warning visitors away.
Police initially raided the house after residents raised concerns about drug use and anti-social behaviour.
Acting Insp Craig Charlesworth from Burngreave Safer Neighbourhood Team said: “Thanks to the help of the community the closure of this property has been successful.
“I am pleased the court has supported our actions and that things will improve.”
