CASH and a television were stolen from a house after a burglar broke in through an open window.
The owner of the house was out when the home on Chatsworth Road, Chesterfield, was raided between 7pm on Thursday, August 18, and 7.30am the following day.
Sgt Mark Pearson, in charge of neighbourhood policing in south Chesterfield, reminded residents to be security-conscious.
He said: “A break-in can cause misery and inconvenience to householders.
“By taking simple precautions like locking doors and windows you can avoid this and make a real difference to protecting your property. Summer may be drawing to a close but we need residents to be vigilant to help us drive down this type of crime.”
