THREE men were arrested and two cars seized in a police operation to tackle cross-border crime between Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The operation, codenamed Borrans, is carried out regularly by Safer Neighbourhood officers in the Bolsover and Worksop areas.

On Monday two cars were seized and three men were arrested on suspicion of drug offences.

Derbyshire officers seized a car from a farmer’s field off Hicklin Wood Lane, Clowne, after the driver was seen using it to cause damage and anti-social behaviour.

Officers from Nottinghamshire searched two cars on an industrial estate off Highgrounds Road, Worksop.

They found cannabis in the spare wheel well of one car and two men were arrested on suspicious of possessing the drug.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply. His car was seized.

The driver of the second car was cautioned for the possession of cannabis.
