Police officers in Chesterfield are urging people to report suspicious activity following a spate of vandalism
A number of cars have had their tyres and paintwork damaged in Staveley and Inkersall.
A Derbyshire Police spokeswoman said: “There have been reports of offenders causing damage to the windows and tyres of cars in the last few weeks. In some cases, sharp instruments have been used to scratch the paintwork.
“Residents are being asked to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to their local policing team to help to stop a crime from happening.
“Motorists are also being encouraged to park in well-lit, overlooked areas and to use garages or driveways where possible.”
