POlice are trying to find the culprit responsible for dumping cannabis plants in a rundown barn found after a pensioner died.
The 12 plants were found in a derelict barn at Manor Farm, Slade Hooton, Rotherham, after the woman who owned the farm died.
A relative found the plants and hydroponic equipment, with the cannabis thought to have been dumped rather than grown there.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “A number of dead or dying cannabis plants were found in a derelict barn at Manor Farm, Slade Hooton.
“Officers and Yorkshire Electricity arrived on scene to ensure the site was safe with regards to any electricity supply to the barn and about 12 plants were removed.
“The plants were located in the loft space of the barn.”
Anyone with information should call police on 101, quoting reference 264 of Thursday, December 22.
