Police officers searching for four members of a Sheffield family wanted over a stabbing are still receiving calls on their whereabouts - nearly one week on since the case featured on Crimewatch.

They made a nationwide appeal for information on the whereabouts 66-year-old Araf Mohammed and his sons Basharat Mohammed, 34, Nasarat Mohammed, 26, and Nasser Mohammed, 21 last Wednesday.

Officers want to speak to them about an attack on a 23-year-old man after he got out of his car after being blocked by another vehicle on Swarcliffe Road, Darnall, last August.

He was stabbed 16 times and attacked with baseball bats and a hammer in his face, head and upper body.

The man was taken to hospital in a life threatening condition initially.

Two suspects, aged 17 and 23, have been charged in connection with the incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “Enquiries are ongoing from the information that came in after the Crimewatch appearance and we continue to receive calls with information.”
