Burglaries and thefts under investigation in Sheffield

A spate of burglaries is under investigation by a police team in Sheffield.

The offences, all reported last week, are being dealt with by Woodseats and Gleadless Valley Safer Neighbourhood Team.

They include a burglary on Lowedges Crescent, Lowedges, where a French door panel was smashed by an intruder who stole cash from the property.

In another break-in on Derbyshire Lane, Meersbrook, a rear kitchen window was smashed and a computer, games console and iPad were stolen from inside.

Officers, led by Inspector Ian Stubbs, are also investigating the theft of a mountain bike after a garage door was forced open on Sands Close, Gleadless Valley.

A garage door was also forced open on nearby Abney Road, Gleadless Valley, and a torch was reported stolen.

On Westbrook Bank, Sharrow, a washing machine was stolen after an outhouse was broken into.

Officers are also investigating the theft of fishing tackle stolen from the boot of a car on Meadow Bank Avenue, Nether Edge.
