A PROBE is underway into five break-ins in three weeks at Bassetlaw Hospital.
Computers and a laptop were among the items stolen. Although no patients’ belongings stolen, some have been affected by the burglaries.
One break-in led to the closure of the clinical therapy department for a short time.
Sgt Neil Bellamy, of Worksop neighbourhood policing team, said: “Aside from the value of the equipment stolen, the impact of the burglaries had a disruptive effect on the day-to-day running of parts of the hospital. Patients’ treatment could be adversely affected. We are urging anyone who has seen suspicious activity around the hospital grounds to report it to us.”
A hospital spokesman said: “These burglaries have been a major disruption to staff and the care they provide. We urge anyone with any knowledge of these crimes to contact the police.”
The latest break-in was last Saturday, and the first was on February 16. Call police on 0300 300 9999.
