A teenage burglar is set to be removed from the country after he was locked up for breaking into a South Yorkshire home and stealing jewellery.
Ladislav Polinsky, aged 19, of Ferham Road, Holmes, Rotherham, was jailed for a year at Rotherham Magistrates’ Court for the burglary at Henley Grove Road, Masbrough, on Tuesday, March 11.
A woman arrived home at around 6pm to discover a lounge window had been forced open and someone had tried to steal her TV, but had apparently been disturbed.
When she went upstairs, she saw her jewellery box had been emptied on to her bed and the bedroom window was wide open.
She looked out and saw the Slovakian national lying on the flat roof.
The woman challenged him and he ran off, but was arrested by police the next day.
