A man has been charged with attempted murder after an alleged stabbing incident in Sheffield.

South Yorkshire Police has confirmed to The Star that a 46-year-old man has been arrested and charged with attempted murder in relation to an incident on Friday night, March 6.

The incident is an alleged stabbing which took place at a property in Elm Road in Beighton.

The victim is currently in hospital in a ‘critical but stable’ condition.

Michael Mallinder, aged 46, was arrested on the scene and he has now been charged with attempted murder.

He is due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, March 9).
