A Sheffield boy, aged 14, was taken to hospital with a stab wound, police have revealed.
The youngster was walking along Cottam Road, High Green, with a group of friends when another group approached them.
Police said the 14-year-old suffered a ‘small puncture wound’ in the attack.
He was taken to hospital for treatment but has since been discharged.
A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: “It is reported that the boy was walking with friends when a group of unknown people approached and allegedly assaulted the teenager.
“He was taken to hospital to be treated for a small puncture wound that is not believed to be serious. He has since been released.”
