A TEENAGER has been arrested in connection with the sending of emails containing possible bomb threats affecting locations in South Yorkshire.
The 17-year-old was arrested on Tuesday night and was being quizzed yesterday being on suspicion of sending malicious communications.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “South Yorkshire Police are investigating emails containing possible bomb threats in the South Yorkshire area.
“It is important we all remain vigilant to keep South Yorkshire safe.”
Officers were alerted to the emails and tracked down the suspect.
The force said the investigation was in its ‘early stages’ and forensic work is now being carried out.
