Arsonists wreak havoc across South Yorkshire

Motorbikes, grassland, a skip, tyres and a discarded settee were all set alight in arson attacks in South Yorkshire overnight.

Firefighters in Doncaster spent most of the night responding to 999 calls about blazes including grassland set alight on The Avenue, Bentley; grass and rubbish torched on Marsh Lane, Arksey and a settee found burning on Tofield Road, Wadworth.

They also tackled a pile of tyres set alight on Finkle Street, Stainforth.

In Sheffield, crews dealt with motorbikes set alight on Clipstone Road, Darnall and Grimesthorpe Road, Grimesthorpe.

Rotherham firefighters were called out to grassland set alight near to Maltby Craggs, of Muglet Lane, Maltby.

There were a number of seats of fire.

They also dealt with a skip set on fire on Limelands Road, Dinnington.
