A COMPUTER monitor used by paramedics was stolen from an ambulance while its crew treated a patient.

The touch screen monitor relays information about patients to ambulance crews and cannot be used with any other device.

It was taken from an ambulance parked in Watson Road, Worksop, while its crew attended to a patient between 7.05pm and 7.20pm on Monday March 22.

PC Mark Handley said: “The theft of this screen is of no benefit to anybody, including the person or persons who stole it. The theft resulted in the ambulance being taken off the road until the screen could be replaced. That obviously puts pressure on the ambulance service’s vehicle fleet and could potentially affect their ability to respond to a life or death emergency.”

n Witnesses or anyone with information should call Nottinghamshire Police on 0300 3009999 extension 8077561. Crimestoppers can also be called on 0800 555111.
