YOUTH workers are spending one night a week in a Sheffield suburb in a bid to help keep youngsters out of trouble.
Members of the city’s Youth Offending Team park a vehicle equipped with activities and equipment outside the children’s centre on Shoreham Street, Highfield, every Tuesday night.
The weekly sessions, which run between 4pm and 7pm until July 19, were organised following complaints about youths congregating outside the centre and causing anti-social behaviour.
Police hope the extra activities will keep youths entertained and give them something positive to do with their spare time.
Officers are also cracking down on reports of anti-social behaviour reported around the park area bordered by Harwood Close and Randall Place, Highfield.
