Crash leaves man with life-threating injuries - appeal

A police appeal has been launched after a collision left a man with life-threatening injuries and led to two men being arrested.

South Yorkshire Police received reports of a collision at about 8.35pm on Saturday in Broom Lane, Broom, Rotherham.

A blue Peugeot 307 and a blue Toyota Yaris were travelling towards Whiston, near the junction with Stag Lane, when the Yaris reportedly lost control, left the road and hit a lamppost.

Three people from the Yaris were taken to hospital, including a 19-year-old man who is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old man and another 19-year-old man suffered minor injuries.

Two 20-year-old men were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving causing serious injury and have been bailed pending further enquiries.

The force is asking for anyone who witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of the vehicles to call 101 quoting incident number 953 of 28 June 2014.
