Crackdown on speeding
SPEED checks were carried out on two Barnsley streets after local residents raised concerns about the number of vehicles driving too fast.
They used a speed gun to record speeds on Woolley Colliery Road, Darton and Keresforth Road, Dodworth.
Of the 171 vehicles checked, five were found to be speeding.
Sergeant Simon Grayson said: "The drivers were advised of the dangers of speeding and told they could face tough penalties such as a fixed penalty notice and points on their license if caught speeding again."
Speeding was raised as an issue during a recent Partners and Communities Together meeting, where residents have the chance to set policing priorities for their neigbourhoods.
