AN ELDERLY couple are fighting for their life after a car crash.
The pair, both aged 80, were involved in a smash on the A6102 Langsett Road North, Oughtibridge, on Wednesday, at 1.55pm.
It is believed a black Kia Picanto, driven by the elderly man, from Wharncliffe Side, was travelling towards Deepcar and drifted across the central white line on a left-hand bend.
The car collided with a white Ford panel van, driven by a 50-year-old man from Wadsley, travelling in the opposite direction.
The Kia left the road before colliding with a parked red Nissan Serena. The van also left the road before colliding with a wooden fence.
The driver of the Kia was taken to Sheffield’s Northern General Hospital with life-threatening chest injuries and a broken leg.
His passenger suffered life-threatening chest injuries.
The van driver suffered a deep cut to his right foot.
