Study into city’s diverse areas

SHEFFIELD University students are delving into the city’s community spirit.

A group of learners have embarked on a fact-finding mission with residents in Sharrow, Heeley and Nether Edge to discover what obstacles face some of the most diverse areas and how the communities can thrive.

The research is part of the Storying Sheffield module, developed by Professor Brendan Stone from The University of Sheffield’s School of English, that focuses on partnerships between students and the local community.

Prof Stone said: “The work requires the building of sustained and respectful partnerships, and a genuine desire to work with and alongside, rather than on, a highly diverse range of individuals.”
