Students are in the good books

STUDENTS at Doncaster College have been raising money for charity by selling books they have made in class.

Learners on the Level 2 progression to Advanced Studies Diploma/Certificate course are hoping to make in excess of £750 for four different very good causes - Make a Wish, the Alzheimer’s Society, Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s Neo Natal Unit, and the South Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.

Over 100 students have made books of their choice as part of their team-working module.

They include such titles as How To Make Christmas Decorations, Cocktails and Canapés, Nursery Rhymes and Stepping Stones to Uni.

Lecturer Heather Thaxted said: “The teams have worked really well together and they have sold hundreds of books and raised a lot of money in the process.”
