A GOVERNMENT organisation in Sheffield which practised what it preaches and recruited an apprentice is celebrating her first year in post.
Kirsten Leslie, aged 19, was recruited to work for Skills for Justice at its head office on Atlas Way, Attercliffe.
The organisation works with employers from UK Justice, Community Safety, Legal Services and HM Forces to develop their apprenticeships.
Kirsten has completed her level two NVQ in Business Administration and is now working towards level three in a new role as PA to two of the senior management team.
Kirsten, of Doncaster, said: “I had no doubt in my mind that I wanted to continue with my studies and further my career as an apprentice.
“When the opportunity arose to progress I jumped at the chance.
“I love my work here and am still really happy with the way everything is going. I still feel 100 per cent this was a much better choice than university.”
Chief operating officer Steve Clark said: “Kirsten has continued to perform well beyond her years.”
