School lawyers win case in mock trial contest

Pupils from Hall Cross Academy proved successful in the Mock Trial competition for the fourth year running.

Pupils from Hall Cross Academy proved successful in the Mock Trial competition for the fourth year running.

DOZENS of Doncaster students found themselves in court - but all left without a stain on their characters.

The pupils were taking part in a mock trial competition at the College Road magistrates’ court, where they played the roles of judges, advocates and court clerks.

Volunteer magistrates, lawyers and legal advisers all assisted with the event, which was won by Hall Cross Academy for the fourth year running. Its pupils will now go on to compete against schools from across Yorkshire at a regional heat on May 18, for a place in the national finals.
