School inspectors praise Barnsley primary

OFSTED inspectors have praised the ‘overall effectiveness and capacity for sustained improvement’ at a South Yorkshire school.

Greenfield Primary School, Hoyland, was said to be ‘good in all areas’.

Inspectors found pupils of all abilities achieve well and make good progress in reading, writing and maths throughout the school.

All groups of pupils, including disabled pupils and those with special educational needs, are well prepared for the next stage of their education.

The quality of teaching is good and pupils behave well and feel safe, inspectors added.

Leadership and management of the school was also praised.

Headteacher, Andrew Ralph said: “Everyone at Greenfield is really pleased with the outcome of the inspection.

“The staff, pupils and school community should be proud of our achievements and use this recognition to build further improvements.”
