School comes top in challenge

A SCHOOL in Sheffield is set to benefit from a new facility after coming top in a contest.

Greenhill Primary School in Main Road beat off stiff competition to be crowned the most active school in the city in Sheffield Council’s 10-Day Active Travel Challenge.

The council asked schools to find an active way to travel to lessons.

With more than 90 per cent of the 500 pupils taking part, Greenhill Primary bagged top prize - £5,000 to spend on scooter and cycle storage.

The new facility will be unveiled at the school tomorrow.

The challenge ran over 10 days last October and was open to youngsters from infant, primary and junior schools. A total of 3,600 Sheffield school pupils took part.
