A celebration of literacy skills was recently held at Rossington All Saints Academy.
The school hosted its inaugural ROSCARs ceremony which showcased the best of the town’s learning community, also including Pheasant Bank Academy, St Michael’s CofE Primary School, Tornedale Infant School and Grange Lane Infant Academy.
The format of the evening emulated that of an academy awards ceremony with shortlisted entries played from the three different categories: poetry, fiction and non-fiction.
Each key stage had the opportunity to submit their entries and then a winner from each was announced. The winners received an award and a small token.
Vice Principal of Rossington All Saints Academy, Greg Raynor, said: “We are extremely proud of all the work the young people are doing every day in our community in order to develop their language and communication skills.
“Tonight has proven that they can express themselves in a range of imaginative and creative ways.
“The ROSCARs ceremony was an excellent celebration of the work that our young people do on a daily basis and it was a wonderful opportunity to come together and share this across our learning community.
Here’s to next year!”
