TWO new beers are to be launched in March, created by student teams from The University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.
The Sheffield Varsity Brewing Challenge was run by Thornbridge brewery.
Sheffield Hallam University created a spiced red ale named Karha – ‘a mix of spices for a specific purpose’. Sheffield University’s brew was named Brearley as a tribute to Harry Brearley, the Sheffield-born metallurgist credited with inventing stainless steel.
The beers will be available side-by-side in pubs across Sheffield including The Bath Hotel off Glossop Road.
