TALENTED teenagers from schools across the city were given an extraordinary science lesson at Sheffield University – exploring the most important organ in the human body.
The Year 10 students delved into the exciting world of biology and matters of the heart in an interactive laboratory session.
The event gave youngsters an intriguing insight into how the heart works, how it responds to exercise and what happens when things go wrong.
Pupils attended a mini-lecture, giving them a taste of university learning, before taking part in a fun session in the lab using heart monitors to track their own heart rate when both resting and exercising.
