Police were involved in Doncaster College’s safety week by providing advice and information to students on a variety of themes.
A real knife arch was placed in the college for students to examine and to be given a demonstration of how it works to help keep people safe in Doncaster by ensuring blades are not taken into pubs and clubs.
Crime prevention advice was given, such as how to keep personal property safe by registering it on www.immobilise.com, and crime prevention officer Eamonn Larkin, spoke about personal safety.
A crashed car was located on site to promote the Christmas drink drive campaign, Start thinking reduce your drinking, and show the students the consequences of driving while over the limit.
PC Dave Chadwick said: “The event reached out to hundreds of students at The Hub. These people had the opportunity to receive lots of useful relevant information, to help keep them safe as they go about their lives.”
