TALENTED Sheffield University graduate Claire Walker has been given an award from Michael Palin in recognition of her ground-breaking research into speech and language therapy.
The 22-year-old speech science student was honoured with the Travis Reid Prize for her outstanding dissertation exploring the impact of self-help groups for people who stammer.
Travis Reid, a lifelong stammerer and founder of the Association for Research into Stammering in Childhood, donated and presented the award at the Michael Palin Centre for Stammering Children.
The centre specialises in speech and language therapy for children and adults who stammer and is supported by much-loved actor and travel writer Palin, whose father suffered from stammering.
