The Bear and Hare from John Lewis’ popular Christmas advert have found a new home - Oughtibridge primary school.

The Sheffield store has donated its scene to the school in recognition of the children’s efforts in creative writing.

James Prince, head of branch at John Lewis Sheffield, said: “We have really enjoyed The Bear and The Hare spending time with us at John Lewis Sheffield. Knowing that the scene will be put to such good use in the school library, for children to have lots of fun with gives us a warm feeling at Christmas.”

Margaret Firth, deputy head at Oughtibridge Primary School said: “The headteacher did an assembly on The Bear and The Hare, which the children just adored and it gave us inspiration to have some fun in lessons with creative writing. The children ended up writing the next advert for John Lewis, so we had an Easter Bear and Hare!

“We know that The Bear and The Hare will continue to bring joy throughout the year, not just at Christmas.”
