BUDDING MPs of the future from Doncaster have received first-hand experience of life in the corridors of power.

The politics students from Balby Carr Community Sports and Science College visited the Houses of Parliament as part of their A-level studies.

The young politicians, all aged 16 and 17, were greeted by their own MP Rosie Winterton before observing from the gallery a weekly question and answer session between the Prime Minister and other MPs.

They then took a tour of the famous building.

Doncaster Central MP Rosie said: “I was delighted to meet the pupils and staff.

“Visiting Parliament is a great way both to get involved with politics and bring history to life.

“I always encourage my constituents to visit the Houses of Parliament.

“Maybe it will inspire them to stand for election to Parliament one day.”
