Recording artist Emmanuel Jal talks and interacts with students at Sheffield City College about his life and how he was raised as child soldier in Sudan

A former child soldier who has become a famous recording artist shared his life story with Sheffield College students.

Emmanuel Jal was born in the war-torn region of Southern Sudan and lost much of his family.

He now shares his experiences through words and music while spreading his personal message for peace.

He said: “I hope to inspire people to become peace soldiers and understand that without a purpose in life you can easily go astray.”
