City parents ‘lucky’ to have enough childcare

Working parents in Sheffield are some of the most fortunate in the country when it comes to accessing out of school childcare, a new survey has found.

The city has enough childcare provision for its five to 11-year-olds, according to city council statistics.

But Sheffield is in the minority, says the Family and Childcare Trust, with more than 60 per cent of local authorities reporting they don’t have enough places.
