Council tax office to close its doors

A COUNCIL tax payment office in Doncaster is to close its doors in January.

Doncaster Council is advising residents who currently pay their council tax, business rates or other council debts by cash at Colonnades that the cash office will close on January 25 – but there are still plenty of other convenient ways to make payments.

Cabinet member Councillor Paul Coddington said: “We offer a wide variety of payment options but, for some, their personal circumstances or preferences mean they need to make payments in cash.

“Anyone wishing to pay by cash can do so at any post office or PayPoint outlet throughout the country using the barcode and payment instructions on their bill.”

There are over 120 PayPoint outlets in the Doncaster area, located in supermarkets, newsagents, corner shops and garages, which are generally open for longer hours and at weekends, enabling customers to pay at times that suit without being tied to council hours.

Residents can find their nearest PayPoint outlet at www.paypoint.co.uk
