Having recently watched Sheffield Theatres’ production of The History Boys, what a magnificent production it was with utterly wonderful performances.
But it brings us once again to those two words that politicians like to keep quiet about – theatre cuts.
Theatre and the arts form a basis at the heart of the community and with recent productions at the Crucible/Lyceum we are witnessing world class theatre.
Young people are having an interest and making it part of their daily lives in our great city.
This work cannot continue without local authority grants being maintained/increased. The sad reality is theatres would remain dark for longer periods or seat prices would increase tenfold and make it available to only the rich.
Come on Sheffield Council, help Sheffield Theatres to continue being a theatre of dreams.
