A SHAKE-UP has taken place of the top team at a North Derbyshire council.
Bolsover Council has reduced the number of councillors in its cabinet from nine to seven to ‘streamline’ decision-making.
Leader Coun Eion Watts, pictured, said: “We know we have got tough decisions to make over the next few years and we have started by reducing the number of cabinet members from nine to seven and aligning them more to our corporate aims.
“The cuts from central government leave us facing a budget black hole of £2.5 million in the next two years alone, a black hole that needs to be dealt with immediately.
“That’s why we have put more emphasis on our efforts to stabilise the council’s budget, regenerate towns and villages and continue to provide and improve services for the benefit of local communities.”
