A POLICE officer tried to revive a Doncaster road crash victim as she was rushed to hospital but his efforts were in vain.

June Ann Sutcliffe, aged 41, was certified dead shortly after she arrived at Doncaster Royal Infirmary from the collision in Hyde Park on March 18.

An inquest into Mrs Sutcliffe’s death has been adjourned to await a full police report into the circumstances.

She was fatally injured near a pelican crossing when in collision with a Yamaha motorcycle being ridden along Carr House Road around 7pm.

PC Philip Atkinson was one of the first officers on the scene and he vaulted the central reservation barrier to assist paramedics treating two casualties.

He accompanied Mrs Sutcliffe in the ambulance to DRI and gave her chest compressions until she arrived to be treated by doctors.

The officer was informed half an hour later she had not survived.

Mrs Sutcliffe, a single woman, who lived in Childers Street, Hyde Park, was identified by her mother, who was granted a cremation certificate.
