ECO-friendly fundraiser Jay McGreneghan, from Sheffield, has set off on a 1,500 mile drive in a car powered by recycled cooking oil.
Jay is driving across the UK and to Germany in his rare VW Caddy to raise funds for the Stroke Association.
The 39-year-old set off on his challenge from the Gilder Volkswagen showroom, Meadowhead.
He will use 300 litres of cooking oil to drive his car to Germany, where he will then run a marathon.
Jay is raising cash for Stroke Association after his father was left severely disabled following a stroke.
Jay said: “When my dad had a stroke eight years ago leaving him severely disabled, my family’s lives changed forever. I originally bought the car to take him on day trips, but when he had a second stroke he couldn’t travel from his bed. I wanted to use the car for a good cause and we’ve spent the last two years meticulously getting the Caddy roadworthy.”
