CONTROVERSIAL plans to demolish and rebuild a house are to be considered by Sheffield councillors.
Neighbouring residents have complained the proposed modern style of the new building, on Ranmoor Road, Ranmoor, would be ‘out of keeping’ with the traditional design of surrounding properties - but council officials say it is ‘not considered necessary to replicate the architectural style of adjacent properties’.
Some 26 objections have been made - but a letter of support has also been submitted.
Ranmoor Society, a community group, is also against the plans due to design and disruption during construction.
Sheffield Council officers are recommending the scheme is approved, saying it is ‘appropriate in terms of scale, density and height’.
A decision on the plans is due at a meeting of Sheffield Council’s west and north planning board on Tuesday.
