HARD work by volunteers has helped brighten up a riding club for disabled people.

Conservative Party members from Rotherham headed to High Hopes Riding For The Disabled, in Thorpe Hesley, to give the interior a lick of paint.

Alan Sheriff, chairman of Wentworth Conservative Association, said: “All of us are great believers in working together to make Rotherham and South Yorkshire better for all of its residents.

“This is the first of what we hope will become many social action days and if any organisations need help by all means contact one of the Rotherham councillors and let us have details.

He added: “There is more work to be done at High Hopes and we will be returning in the spring to paint the stable block once the horses are out to grass.”
