Condolences: Ian Hambrey

Ian Hambrey died after he was struck by a police car just days before he was due to celebrate his 50th birthday.

Mr Hambrey, a moulder at a Wath factory, died instantly after he was struck by a police patrol car on Doncaster Road, Denaby Main.

The vehicle had been responding to an emergency call and had its blue lights flashing and sirens sounding.

It is believed Mr Hambrey was crossing Doncaster Road on the way home to Lime Tree Walk, Denaby, when the collision occurred.

Mr Hambrey, who was not married, leaves behind two children from a previous relationship.

Carly, aged 20, and 10-year-old Kieran live with their mother.
