Condolences: Ex-Star columnist Peter Harvey

One of the best-loved figures in South Yorkshire journalism has died at the age of 73.

Peter Harvey entertained readers with his whimsical columns in the Sheffield Telegraph and The Star for more than 50 years.

He continued to write until shortly before his death on Friday May 16.

Peter was well-known as an author and was steeped in Sheffield and its history.

Lifelong friend Stuart Machin who went to school with Peter and worked with him at both the Morning Telegraph and The Star, hailed him as an out-and-out Sheffielder and consummate professional whose humour never deserted him.

Peter had many fans in the city and across the world. If you enjoyed his work and would like to pay tribute to him please leave a message below.
